This quote by Jack Kerouac describes very aptly what art means to me: passion, curiosity, and the willingness to burn for something.
Hello, I am Magpie. I burn for art, aesthetics, light, and shadow. I have often been asked why I paint. My answer is simple: because it is an inner necessity for me to express my own perspectives and stories in my very personal way.
In 2022, I began working on my current series. At AVANTGARDISTA 2026, I am presenting nine original works. It is about emotions and passion, about equality and differences, about light and shadow—and about how we perceive ourselves and others. I paint people and stories, detached from fixed roles, labels, and societal norms. What we see at first glance is only the surface. Behind it, there is always more: a story, a perspective, a personality.
My work stands for equality, tolerance, and openness. I believe that the mind can overcome many boundaries if we are willing to question them.
With my art, I want to leave room for irritation and invite people to look at the familiar in a new way. There doesn’t always have to be a clear answer.
Showing my works publicly is a special step for me. I am all the more pleased to be able to present them in this year’s AVANTGARDISTA Artspace. Being part of AVANTGARDISTA 2026 means, for me, showing art in a place where openness and individual perspectives have their space and visions can be shared.
And in the end, one thing above all should be allowed to speak for itself: the aesthetics.
