“There is no AI in this shit”

The world of photography produces images by the second. Many vanish before the next
swipe is even done. The Agency for Strange Behaviour pursues a different ambition: to create
images that briefly stop the flow. Images that demand attention, startle the imagination,
and linger in the memory.

It is interesting to see what happens when the familiar loses its balance: when a
scene develops its own logic, a detail suddenly becomes the main focus, and a world emerges from
an image that didn’t exist like that before. This photography doesn’t look for the
easiest path to an effect. It searches for the right image—and is willing to forge its own
path to get there.

While others work with AI, these images emerge from the imagination, the eye,
and the work of the photographer. No machine takes over the idea, the
decisions, or the moment for him. The image is found, shaped, and accounted for. That
is slower, more demanding, and less predictable. That is exactly where the appeal lies: in images
that don’t feel like arbitrary, on-demand answers, but carry a recognizable signature.

The Agency for Strange Behaviour is not just a name. It is a manifesto. The strange
is not smoothed over, the unusual is not degraded to mere decoration. The images
are allowed to be enigmatic at times, self-confident, even uncomfortable. They are meant to
challenge, rather than revealing everything at first glance.

And those who make it in front of the camera aren’t just there by chance. Time,
attention, and the camera are not granted arbitrarily. It takes more than
the desire to be photographed: a charisma, an attitude, something unique.
We aren’t looking for random faces for random images, but for people who belong in
this visual world—and who can change it in their own way.

The works have been published in magazines, shown in exhibitions, and sold internationally as
publications. They have crossed borders and found their way to
an international audience. It is more than just a list of milestones: it
shows that independent photography is not bound to a single place.

Images are not made to be seamlessly inserted into an existing category. Work is
done to assert a category of its own. The camera is the
starting point for decisions: What stays in the frame? What is shifted? What
atmosphere does a scene carry? And how much must be visible so that the viewer’s imagination
keeps working?

In an era where images can be generated seemingly effortlessly, the focus is on the
independence of an idea, the consistency of a decision, and the visible
signature of a photographer. The images are intended to trigger curiosity, irritation, or fascination.

They should do more than capture a moment: they should secure their place in the
mind.
The goal is not to take as many pictures as possible. The goal is images that cannot be
confused with all the others. Images with presence. With attitude. With their own
gravitational field.

“The Agency for Strange Behaviour: Photography that doesn’t ask for permission to
be unusual—and a spot in front of the camera that you have to earn first.”

At AVANTGARDISTA 2026, the images detach themselves from the wall and start to
move. Alongside photographic projections, moving images will also be part of the installation:
flickering sequences, surreal transitions, and visual disturbances that
transform the space and shake the familiar order.

The audience doesn’t just stand in front of the works—they step right into them. Projections
intertwine, images appear and disappear again, movements draw the
eye further until the boundaries between photography, film, and installation blur.
What seemed like an image just a moment ago becomes a scene; what began as a scene tips into
an alien visual world.

This is no decorative backdrop and no cozy art stroll. It is an
immersive installation with its own pulse: loud in its visual language, unpredictable in its
impact, and deliberately designed to provoke. It draws the audience in,
disrupts visual habits, and doesn’t let you leave quite the same as when you entered.
At AVANTGARDISTA 2026, it’s not just a projection. The experience takes over the
room.
